Fundamental Art Skills course will start in January 2019. It will run once a week for 3 months.
I have taught Art and Craft for many years and I have always come across the problem which many students have – poor knowledge of basic principles of Art and lack of strong foundation skills in Art. Art and Craft students want their work to look professional and achieve great results quickly. They often get frustrated struggling to match the right colours, they are not sure about composition and proportions, they can’t show perspective in their work, etc.
Therefore many learners have to copy someone’s ideas or take much guidance from a tutor which limits their creativity and affects the ownership of their work.
I have been thinking about this issue for a while and decided to compile an assistance course, called Fundamental Art Skills Course, for my students to help them feel more confident in Art and Craft, to give them more freedom in realising their ideas and exploring creativity by teaching them The Art Literacy.
This Fundamental Art Skills course is aiming to give each learner a strong base of Knowledge and develop their essential skills in Art. This is an in-depth, consecutive course with clear step by step instructions for people who are willing to work hard and achieve professional results. As a passionate Art Tutor with a degree in Fine Art I am happy to pass on my knowledge and expertise to my students.
Acquiring strong drawing skills and composition knowledge will be the priority of the course and it will also include the following:
- Learning Formal Art Elements- line, shape, form, tone, texture, pattern and colour
- Learning Proportions
- Developing creativity and artistic vision
- Looking at Art History
- Museum visit
The course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as people with some experience in Art and Craft. You will enjoy learning with like minded people in a friendly, creative atmosphere, in small groups inspired by a professional artist and fine examples of original Art work.
Discussions, individual and some group work, problem solving, getting out of your comfort zone and exploring Art will be encouraged. Lots of help and support from myself as an experienced tutor is guaranteed.
